i can only multitask if it's a knitting project...

this blog has fallen by the wayside of the many projects i am making...the test knitting thing...well hurricanes and loss of electricity happened way back then and i never got back up with the computer till much later. my father passed august 2012. the end of 2012 kinda sucked.

it's been a year and a bit more. there's been ups and downs but as far as knitting goes...i've done more this past year than i have ever. for xmas last year i made the "almost mother in law" a cowl. the kitchner stitch connection looked like hell, but i finished it and gifted it mostly on time. i've since made some socks that didn't fit, but i know why now, a hat/cowl and started several other projects for the holidays...new hats for this year for each kid and another pair of socks with a lace pattern, i knit a mitten - with cables even! and a few other projects in the works.

so i'm becoming more prolific with my knitting. i'm adding different skills to my repertoire. i'm also using stash and spinning some more. becoming creative and even daring. i'm enjoying the knitting process. the mittens will be the first thing i've finished that are for me! but i'm also adding more projects to the queue and searching for even more patterns...i have like 40 on my phone knitting app! thanks goodness for pdf!

once the last of the holiday gifts are done, i'll do my other mitten and get to work on the other projects, finish the socks, the shawl(s) and start the other things waiting in the wings! i'll also try to post here at least once a week. maybe it will help me keep track!

I'm usually very busy for the other parts. It's driving me crazy as I am not only out of work, but I am NON WEIGHT BEARING. For the first month, I focused on spinning. As my last post mentioned, I got a supported spindle, or five...and spun enough to ply on my new drop spindle... I've spun up quite a bit on those spindles! I made some baby booties and a hat! and started a new shawl - I also finished my gnomes - one I started last year and one that I managed to make IN TIME FOR A MKAL START AND FINISH! That's a completely new one for me. And then...another completely new to me thing - creating my own design. I couldn't finish the other shawl because I need a longer needle and can't get one until this week. I was searching for a half circle design. I tri...
