i'm still such a beginner...

and yet i am so excited to do more more more! i want to yarn bomb! yeah. right. like, i can see myself doing it in ocean city on the boardwalk or new hope or something, but my dream would be at grounds for sculpture. i want it to happen. i am plotting....it may take a long time, but...well, good things come...

i fell in love with this yarn. it's Manos silk blend in aster. it took me a year to start looking for a pattern and months to actually find just the right one. there are beautiful purples and blues in this yarn and so far feels very nice. it will be heavier than the pattern called for, but i think it will be fine. i'll post another picture when it gets a bit bigger...but here's a taste:



now, back to knitting it and plotting my yarn bombing future...

when you can't work, you become a prolific crafter...

at least in my case! I fractured my hip back in February. I've been out of work since the end of that month. I'm an EMT so sitting around is only a part of what I do! I'm usually very busy for the other parts. It's driving me crazy as I am not only out of work, but I am NON WEIGHT BEARING. For the first month, I focused on spinning. As my last post mentioned, I got a supported spindle, or five...and spun enough to ply on my new drop spindle... I've spun up quite a bit on those spindles! I made some baby booties and a hat! and started a new shawl - I also finished my gnomes - one I started last year and one that I managed to make IN TIME FOR A MKAL START AND FINISH! That's a completely new one for me. And then...another completely new to me thing - creating my own design. I couldn't finish the other shawl because I need a longer needle and can't get one until this week. I was searching for a half circle design. I tri...
